Our Story
Thank you for joining us at Dexters Steakhouse + Grill. We pride ourselves on serving the very best of heritage breeds of Welsh beef including Dexters, Hereford, Highland and Shorthorn cattle. It is a farm to fork story of sustainable extensive farming using nose to tail. We have handpicked our beef locally and are dry ageing it in-house to perfection.
About us
Dexters Steakhouse & Grill based in Carmarthen is the successor of Diablo’s on the Quay with a prime location on the Carmarthen estuary serving locally sourced produce and also catering for vegetarian, vegan, gluten free dishes and children.
Dexters Steakhouse + Grill are a part of the Diablo’s family that established back in 2008 by Alex Luck with a passion for great tasting, no fuss, British cuisine and the need for an informal dining experience.
Dexters Steakhouse & Grill is very much a family-friendly restaurant with menus for customers. Our terrace with spectacular views over the Towy River is also dog friendly for our four-legged friends to sit and relax.
Alex’s career in the food industry started back at the ripe old age of just 18 years old, where he owned a baguette shop for 5 years. This ignited Alex’s passion for the food industry, introducing him to take a step into a chef role, one of which was at a fine dining restaurant in Carmarthen. Whilst in this role, Alex identified a gap in the market for a less formal dining experience in Carmarthen and set out to create a contrasting restaurant.
The Diablo’s brand, including the new Dexters Steakhouse + Grill in Carmarthen and Dexters at Brown’s in Laugharne, has grown to 4 sites across South Wales including Carmarthen, Swansea and Laugharne, offering live music on weekends when permitted.
We have staff who are passionate about the brand and equally passionate about making sure you want to keep coming back for more. From the team who source our products, cook our amazing food to the guys and gals who serve your drinks – these are why the Diablo’s brand continues to be a success!
